#HashtagHoliday: 4 Brands to Look up to This Season

Posted On November 30th, 2017 | 6:54pm EST

Looking to take your seasonal strategy up a notch this holiday? Look no further. We’ve highlighted some of our favorite brand’s posts and programs (and yes, #hashtags) to help you get inspired to practice your own spirited social campaigns.

#HolidayBuds

A couple years back, Budweiser decided to tap into the bespoke packaging movement by delivering their product in wooden crates with vintage writing. The clever aesthetic was not only cool enough to be sold as a Christmas present but worthy of many Twitter and Instagram shares.

In 2015, REI said “no thanks” to the Black Friday buzz. Instead, the brand closed its stores on the biggest shopping day of the year, gave their employees the day off and encouraged their customers to get outside instead. It was a risky move but this is a great example of how a powerful message can boost your brand.

#TasteTheFeeling

Coca-Cola is the king of shareable campaigns. After all, they are the geniuses behind “share a coke” which literally has “share” in the name. Their #TasteTheFeeling campaign is all about associating their product with good feelings and the holiday season is full of them.

#HappyWrapping

American Greetings took a comedic approach to holiday gift wrapping with Buddy the Elf-like spokesperson, Jake, who loves gift wrap the same way Buddy likes maple syrup– covering everything. The funny ad successfully encouraged followers to tag their own holiday wrapping with #HappyWrapping.
