#contenthacks: Why Premium Content + Social Data = Effective Native Advertising

With branded content from TV networks performing best on Facebook, consumers are becoming familiar with the new normal: watching branded content across all social media platforms. Following the same pattern, your own brand should be working overtime to spread your message through every channel.

In order to keep your consumers engaged and interested in your brand, you have to present content that draws them in. Here are four things to keep in mind:

Video is key. Video draws in your audience and elicits emotional reactions. There’s a reason why it’s the most popular post type, it gets results.

Your brand should be sharing your own content to social media. When you’re delivering the content directly to your consumers, not only are you creating a more personal experience, but you’re sure to see more engagement. With network TV shows, branded content distributed by the show or network’s handle generated nine times more engagement than the same content on an advertiser’s handle.

Make quality content. Think about something you would actually want to watch and project that into your branded content. Your consumers won’t engage with a one-sided effort that only serves to promote your brand name.

Target your audience. Who do you want to reach? Who is the perfect consumer for your brand? Create content that is directly aimed at them; if you try to cover too many demographics, you won’t be able to hold audience attention for long.
